2010年11月3日-7日，应高等人文研究院邀请，德国图宾根大学教授、基督教加尔文派神学家于尔根·莫特曼（Jürgen Moltmann）来北大访学。期间，杜维明教授与莫特曼教授开展了基督教-儒学之间的文明对话，就神学与生态方面进行了深度探讨，推进了中外文化的思想学术交流。 莫特曼教授随后作为特邀嘉宾参加了北京论坛。促进了北京大学和海外著名学者的交流，有助于提升了北京大学的国际性和学术研究的前沿性。 于尔根·莫特曼（Jürgen Moltmann）是德国图宾根大学系统神学荣休教授（Professor Emeritus of Systematic Theology），当代极负盛名的神学家。他因《盼望神学》（Theology of Hope）而知名，在基督教终末论方面有新的贡献。 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jürgen_Moltmann
