2016年10月19日,杜维明:中国文化的课堂有多大
哈佛的核心课程中,有一些是博士生必修的通识教育课。原先杜维明先生讲授的大都是西方课程,大约上个世纪八十年代末,他向校方提出要开一门 伦理的课程。校方怀疑这样的中国课程,能不能讲下去――也就是学生能不能听下去? 杜维明开始在普通教室讲儒家伦理,后来学生太多,改在梯形教室上课。学生又坐不下了,改到礼堂上课。又坐不下了,改到哈佛最大的山得斯(Sanders)剧院讲课。江泽民主席来哈佛演讲,就是在这里。山得斯的一、二层,满满坐着六七百学生。开始,杜维明看到教室的地上、门外都挤坐着学生,说希望你们不要走错了地方――他自己也没有想到会一下子来这么多听众。 孔孟之道、程朱理学,与美国现代青年有什么关系吗? 文章来源:北大博雅好书公众号。

【文章】2016年10月18日,良知之光是热的 开放而又多元
10月15日,由中国文化院和北京三智文化书院共同主办的首届“中国阳明心学高峰论坛”在北京开幕,本次论坛的主题为“人类智慧与共同命运”。40余名来自美国、日本、韩国、大陆、台湾的阳明心学顶尖学者和政府领导出席论坛,1000余名企业家代表、社会各界精英以及阳明心学爱好者参会,共同探讨阳明心学的当代价值和现实意义。当日下午的研讨会上,北京大学高等人文研究院院长杜维明先生以“阳明心学中的体验之知”为题做主旨演讲,以下为文字实录: 尊敬的各位教授、各位学术界和企业界的朋友们,每个人发言的时间是15分钟,跟我的预想有一点差别,我就提一个问题,阳明思想今天要发挥它的作用,集中在“致良知”,它碰到的挑战是什么? 我想最大的挑战,因为长期以来,大家总是把阳明学作为主观唯心论,虽然现在已经没有这个提法了,但主观主义非常清楚,总是觉得阳明要提出“致良知”,这是突出的个人主体性,“知行合一”,“知”本身就是一种转化,因此它也是自我个体,所以非常突出个体。 首先我想应该要分清楚一个观念,主观主义是自己观察所得到的事物,主体性的建立在阳明学里面以“致良知”作为主体性,它有穿透性,那就必须从开放和多元的两个角度来说。他是对自己开放,对以后的我开放,对天地万物开放,这是一种体验之知。这个和一般我们的了解、认识、观察有相当大的关系,他了解不是用他的脑,用他的理性,他是用他的全部生命,身心性命全部包括在内,所以这个“知”的本身意义非常丰富,他有“情”的因素在内,有很多的学者根据这个理念来讲哲学。 第二,它确实是体现了“意”,也是一种新的指向,很有方向性。另外,它是知行一致,这个认识的本身不是完全从观察和欣赏来的,而是认识的本身有一种自我转化的能力,对于认知的对象有转化的能力,认知的主体也受到了转化,所以“知”的本身是“行”。“知”的含义是一种有创造转化的行动,所以中间有意愿、有感觉,还有表达各种心理学上的观点。 文章来源:凤凰国学
