Tu delivered keynote address on World Philosophy Day杜维明在世界哲学日做主题演讲

The World Philosophy Day 2010 will be held in Iran on 18th November 2010. Tu Weiming, Professor of Philosophy at Peking University, will deliver a keynote address on November 21, 2010 during the three-day event. In his address, Prof. Tu will reflect upon cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue in the context of history as well as today’s world.

World Philosophy Day (WPD) is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) initiative annually observed on the third Thursday of November. It falls on November 18 this year. Last year, the event was held in Moscow.

Director of the Institute of Wisdom and Philosophy of Iran said that theme of international congress of this year’s WPD is “Philosophy: Theory and Practice.”

It is reported that over 50 foreign scholars are going to participate in the event from different countries including the United States, China, India, Austria, Denmark, South Korea, Japan and Norway.
