2010年10月,杜维明教授当选为国际哲学学会荣誉院士

2010年9月28日,北京大学高等人文研究院揭牌典礼
2010年9月28日,北京大学高等人文研究院(简称高研院)揭牌典礼在陈守仁国际研究中心举行。北京大学校长周其凤,常务副校长吴志攀,副校长刘伟,副校长李岩松,高研院院长杜维明及北大人文社科院代表、各职能部门负责人均出席了此次典礼。典礼由关世杰教授主持。 周其凤校长发表致辞,他首先向杜先生和高研院的全体工作人员表示祝贺。在讲话中,周校长回顾了北京大学建校百余年以来的人文传统与民族命运的密切关联,并认为高等人文研究院的成立在北大人文学科发展中具有里程碑的意义。他还指出了高研院自从筹办以来对整合北大学术资源做出的重要贡献,相信由高研院推动的“启蒙反思”、“儒学创新”等讨论领域必将为国内外学术对话提供更多更加宽广的平台,从而推动中华传统文化的传播和国内人文社会科学的国际化进程。在致辞的最后,他衷心地提出期待,希望北京大学高等人文研究院不仅为北京大学的人文学发展注入一股活力,也能在这个伟大的时代转折点上,扮演更加重要的角色。 杜维明院长介绍了高研院的现状。高研院下设“文化中国”、“文明对话”、“世界宗教与普世伦理”、“燕京中心”等四个研究中心,将聘请国内外资深专家组成顾问委员会,咨询委员会和学术委员会,以此为基础制定学术计划并推动若干研究项目的开展。杜维明院长希望通过高研院的工作提高国内人文社科研究的国际影响力,为东西文化的核心价值创造平等对话的机会。 北京大学汉学家研究基地,宗教文化研究院,儒学研究院以及来自中文系、历史系和哲学系的代表分别致辞,表示了对高等人文研究院成立的祝贺,并希望在学术交流与人才培养上和高研院展开密切合作,共同推进具有综合性、前瞻性的人文学研究。 在接下来的主题演讲中,来自人文社科不同院系的马戎、李强、张祥龙与杜维明四位教授分别就“文化中国”、“启蒙反思”、“儒学创新”与“文明对话”四大领域发表观点,从各自的学术背景出发展示出了这些主题所蕴含的丰富思想内涵和拓展空间,并且非常认可杜维明教授指出的“在文明对话的大环境下,我们不仅需要了解他者,而且要反思自身的传统,以更开放的姿态促成一种‘对话的文明’的形成。” 在典礼后,周其凤校长与杜维明院长共同为高等人文研究院揭牌。 附简介:北京大学高等人文研究院(Institute for Advanced Humanistic Studies,PKU),简称高研院(IAHS),于2008年经北京大学批准开始筹备,2010年9月28日正式成立,是集学术研究学术交流和人才培养于一体的研究与教学机构。高等人文研究院立足中国传统,致力于具有国际性和创造性的学术研究,以促进人文学内部、社会科学,以及人文社会科学与自然科学之间的跨学科交流,深化对中国传统文化的自我反思实现对传统文化的发展与转化。高等人文研究院首任院长由杜维明教授担任。
