2009年11月9日,第二届中印“关于知识、智慧与神性的哲学反思”国际会议
2009年11月9日至11日,第二届中印“关于知识、智慧与精神性的哲学反思”学术研讨会在北京大学隆重召开。会议由北京大学高等人文研究院、北京大学哲学系与北京大学外国语学院联合主办。来自印度、美国与中国大陆和台湾地区的三十多名杰出思想家、学者济济一堂,共同研讨人类文明的基本议题。哈佛大学哈佛燕京学社前任社长、北京大学高等人文研究院院长杜维明教授与教育部国际司副司长沈阳教授出席了大会开幕式并致辞。北京大学校长周其凤院士的致辞由北京大学社科部副部长萧群教授代为宣读。 周其凤校长在致辞中回顾了中印文化交流的光辉历史,特别强调本次会议是2007年在新德里举办的“第一届中印‘知识、智慧与精神性’学术研讨会”的继续和发展,也是自二十世纪六十年代中印边境冲突以来,中印双方首次在中国进行的高层学术交流,同时也是新中国历史上的第一次。与会代表是两国思想、哲学界的翘楚,对于促进中印两国的相互了解和共同发展有着极为重大的历史和现实意义。杜维明教授代表主办方向与会的各位学者致以了诚挚的欢迎。他在致辞中强调了一直以来他所关注的“文明对话与对话文明”的主题,希望借助本次会议,让中印两国的学者能够搭建起一个长期交流合作,从文明内部底蕴上彼此理解、同情并相互借鉴。教育部国际司沈阳副司长则从现代化与全球化的角度,指出印度与中国应当在面对强势西方的文化压力下,激扬自身传统文化,并相互切磋、研讨,为世界展示东方文明的价值与魅力。中印两国过去的交流存在一些沟通方面的偏差,其中一个重要原因是缺少深层的文明基本价值与核心概念体系的理解和交流,因此本次会议意义重大,希望将来能够形成一个持续的传统,使中青年学者也从中受益并成长。本次大会同时还受到印度驻华大使馆与联合国教科文组织的关注,双方均发来贺信,肯定了此次会议的重大意义,并祝愿本次会议成功举行。

2009年11月2日,杜维明教授与德国天主教神学家、普世伦理倡导者孔汉思教授进行文明对话
2009年11月2日,孔汉思教授在北京大学发布《普世经济伦理宣言》,客座北京大学宗教文化研究院“虚云讲座”。随后,与杜维明教授在临湖轩进行了文明对话。 杜维明教授与孔汉思教授就全球范围内宗教、文化范式、中国儒学等问题。对话形成孔汉思、杜维明儒家与基督教对话。 本次讲座及对话以发表在《人文宗教研究(第一辑)》(宗教文化出版社,2011年)。 孔汉思 (Hans Küng) 教授是世界级的公共知识分子,德国图宾根大学(University of Tubingen) 基督教神学荣休教授,世界级的神学家、哲学家,普世伦理运动的发起者和推动者。 文末附录音整理(未校对稿,转载请联系本院)
