2011年11月2日-19日，高等人文研究院邀请世界宗教社会学权威罗伯特·贝拉教授来北京访学18天。期间，贝拉教授作为特邀嘉宾参加北京论坛：高等人文研究院与北京论坛合办杜维明院长与贝拉教授的大型文明对话活动，推动了高等人文研究院在文明对话与普世伦理方面的研究。同时，贝拉教授客座北京大学宗教文化研究院“虚云讲座”、北京师范大学人文宗教高等研究院“燕京艺术讲座”、以及社会科学院宗教所进行学术报告，推动了深度中美学术交流。 罗伯特·贝拉（Robert N.
